Tharco, Incorporated began on a wish from a son to his father. Working shoulder to shoulder for almost 10 years at a local plumbing company, they knew success was a guarantee. Tom Harney, Sr. was Vice-President and Tom Harney, Jr. was a superintendent. Tom Jr. approached his father with the idea of starting their own company. They both had the same aspirations and professional outlook. Their goal was to establish a professional and reputable company and be able to offer security and stability to all of their employees and families. On December 31, 1977 they pursued their dream and established Tharco, Incorporated.

Tim Harney, Tom Harney, Sr’s second son and Tom Jr’s brother, also worked at the same company as both his father and brother worked. Being seven years younger, he did not have the opportunity to work in the office with Tom Jr. & Tom Sr., but he did relate with them in the field daily as he was an apprentice working his way up. Tim wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps just as Tom Jr. had and decided to join the team shortly after Tharco was created. The three musketeers, all master plumbers, plowed ahead full force, working in the field into the late evenings and weekends and within a year they were able to recruit a couple employees. They have been going full force and never looked back.

The youngest of the family, 13 years younger than Tom, Jr., joined the team. Being a female, working in the field was not an attractive option for her, but acquiring an accounting position was. Immediately after high school in 1981, Kathy Merani jumped right in working in the office along side her father during the day and pursuing an education at college in the evenings.

The founders of Tharco, Incorporated formed this company determined to grow into a professional and reputable organization, while offering security and stability for ALL of it’s employees and their families. These expectations are and always will be met. Today we pride ourselves on long term customer relations, built on integrity and quality. We are a very reputable organization in the plumbing industry for more than 31 years. With 40 + employees, many of whom have been part of our team for 15 years and greater, our finished products are of first-rate quality and always completed on schedule. Tharco is continually growing. We love a challenge, and are always looking out for our business associates and employees.
